We've been taking a break from road tripping in the paradiso hostel in Nelson the past 5 days due to Matt getting a quite bad cold. The Paradiso is the place to stay for sure, not just if you are sick and need to get some rest. While he was sleeping all day getting rid of the cold I spend my days reading my book on the pool while tanning or making the most out of the unlimited wifi.
We decided to do some exploring as soon as Matt felt a little better and went to the Center of New Zealand, which is just a little walk away from the hostel (it took us 1 1/2 hours both ways and we did spend some time talking and taking selfies once we got up there).
You can look all over nelson and the harbour, which is pretty awesome considering that we only walked uphill for 15 minutes!
I feel like Nelson does not know rain. until today we had 5 days of pure sunshine and even I had to wear my spf to make sure I don't burn.
Once we reached the Center we had a little sit down, it would have been the perfect spot for a picknick, but we both were looking forward to apple pancakes in the hostel that evening.
And here we are, the Center of New Zealand, pretty cool, but nothing all too special. The View on the other hand is amazing.
To avoid the midday sun we went around 4 pm and it was lovely, not too hot and not too cold, but pretty humid.
All in All it was a good thing to end the day with, just the two of us on a little walk. It's nothing too tiring, prefect for talking or just enjoying the evening sun. Definitely give it a go!
