Motueka

After staying a little too long in Nelson (I would have prefered getting back on the road to explore the country way sooner) we decided to head onwards Abel Tasman. Since I don't have a backpack and we both are not really enthusiastic about hiking, we decided to stick to day walks and make the most out of the fact that we have a car that we can sleep in. We travelled from lookout to lookout and saw the most amazing views.

Motueka

Our first stop was Motueka, we were looking forward to staying at Don's free camping spot just outside of Motueka, but it was closed sadly. Therefore we explored Motueka first and Matt took me out for dinner at the Simply Indian Restaurant

After that we drove up to the Hawkes Lookout to spend the night at the free camping spot. The road up to the parking Spot was completely covered in fog and looked quite spooky to be honest. It is a gravel parking spot with a super disgusting toilet (flies and sandflies everywhere and it stinks!) but luckily it is pretty dark and has a lot of bushes on the side...

The Hawkes Lookout was a good way to start the morning, a short walk to a viewing plattform with a really pretty view.
We were right on cloud level, so the clouds kind of got stuck in the mountains.

Even the walk to the lookout was covered with weird shaped stones and led over some wooden foodbridges making it feel like a little adventure.
You could look all the way over to Nelson from the lookout, which was pretty awesome!

And that's it for todays slightly short blogpost!
You can look forward to a way longer one about the Abel Tasman National Park in a few days.
I hope you are all having an amazing Week,
See you at the next Wifi-Hotspot!
Love: Kiki
