Guide to Greymouth, New Zealand

When in Greymouth there are many awesome walks to do! You should definitely go ahead and do a few of them. We decided to do the Coal Creek Walls Walk and the Woods Creek Walk. There is a walk named Nelson Creek walk, but when we followed it the path got lost in the woods and we couldn't find where it kept on going, so we decided to skip that one.

Coal Creek Falls Walk

The Coal Creek Falls Walk is a 1 hour return walk that leads to a beautiful wide Waterfall.

The Waterfall pool is quite deep and I can imagine just jumping in and bathing in it while letting the waterfall hail down on you.

Woods Creek Walk

The walk itself is notthing all too special. The drive to the starting point is a one hour drive on gravel road, which was not really worth it in the end.
On the other hand we had the opportunity to see the funniest little birds that followed us nearly the whole way and we got to see some blue (yes blue) mushrooms.

This little bird followed us the whole way until we reached a tunnel. He flew in weird zig zag ways and camer really close to us before turning around 180° on the spot.

If you didn't know yet, blue mushrooms exist. I do not know if they are toxic or not. We just decided to let them live and take a picture. Take only pictures, leave only footprints!

The track went over a swingbridge that actually did swing and through an old miners tunnel. On the side you can read up on the live of miners.

All in all I don't reallyknow if the drive was worth it. It was a nice walk, but the drive was kinda shitty.
