Mt. Cook National Park

The other day we decided to visit Mt. Cook national park and it was awesome. The weather was beautiful and we were blessed with a sunny day.

The whole drive down to Mt. Cook we had a clear view of the Mountain.

Starting the walk we visited a church that was a memorial for all the people that died on Mt. Cook, which only made us even more conscious of the dangers of a mountain.

We wore 5 layers of tops and two layers of bottos and it was just way too much, it is cold, but since we were constantly moving in the sun it was not really that cold.

We had to pass three suspension bridges which I thought was pretty cool, there is just something about suspension bridges!

On the way back we went to see the mirror lake, which was not the biggest lake but it mirrored!

Next up was lake Tekapo, we stopped randomly on the side of the road to climb up a small hill for the best views.

Now Lake Tekapo did not really impress me that much, the landscape was beautiful and the lake a really nice shade of blue, but there was nothing really to do.

We coudn't find any walks to lookouts and the visitor center was closed without any information on the outside of it.

We made the best out of it by going exploring on our own!

After a day of exploring we were pretty amazed by the sunset.

All in all I have to admitt that I was overwhelmed by the beauty of it all! The mountains, snow and lakes were in such a nice contrast! Anyway that's it for this weeks blogpost.
