A night at the Snowy Waters Lodge in Historic Raetihi.
Before starting this Blogpost I would like to recall that I
do not get paid for putting up bloposts about Accommodations and activities
that you need to pay for. All my Blogposts are written by me because I enjoyed
my stay and would like to recommend it!
Now we got this out of the way let’s get started. We found Snowy Waters Lodge on Campermate and intended to sleep in our van for 20$ per vehicle. It was already dark and miserably raining outside when we arrived, since our van was not self-contained Sandy, the owner made us an offer to stay in a double room, which we gladly took. We instantly fell in love with the lodge!

We had a double room in “the Villa” which had a shared living
room and kitchen.
The Villa is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the mountains, wether you are hitting the slopes or doing the Tongariro crossing!
We lit up the fireplace and had a beautiful and slightly romantic
evening.
The details that are added around the lodge just made it feel super homely
You usually have a pretty awesome view from the living room over the mountains if it is not all cloudy!
We spent some time in the very hot hot pool, relaxing in the
warm water before going back inside to cook up dinner in the very well equipped
kitchen.
The yard is pretty big and in Summer perfect for outside activities, I would have loved to do a bit Yoga on the well kept grass, but it was way to rainy so I chose the carpet in front of the fireplace and it was brilliant!
This place is awesome! Eventhough we did a couples night this lodge is perfect for families, solo travellers, backpackers, couples or a group of friends, it has everything you need, from a Bed and Breakfast option in an ensuite room to a dorm-style room.
