Lisbon Part 2

And here is as promised part two, better late then never!

Day 4 - Sintra

We hesitated doing this tour, because we wanted to enjoy Lisbon completely, but since it was Easter Sunday we decided to go for the tour and it was the best decision we have ever made. We signed up for the tour in our hostel. It was the Lisboetas Sintra Magic Tour for 30€. We got picked up at the Rossio, which is 5 Minutes by foot from the Travellers House and drove to Sintra, on the way our lovely guidetold us everything there is to know about Sintra.

Our first Stop was the Pena Palace and it looked like it was straight out of a Disney movie.

The colourful walls, and the atmosphere made it to an absolute uplifting place, the only downside is that we did not have the chance to look inside, because the line was just simply to long!
For 7,50€ you can look at the Pena Palace from thw outside and wander around in the breathtaking gardens.

We decided to walk up to the high cross to get a better view of the palace. I was prepared for a steep climb, but it turned out to be a pleasant stroll.

The view from the high cross enabled us to marvel at the palace as much as we wanted.

After the palace we got to see the Initiatic Well, wich is basically an upside down tower, build into the ground. It can be found in the magical Gardens of Quinta da Regaleira, which was our second stop. The gardens were truly beautiful. We walked through the tunnel system and enjoyed the beautifully build structures.

The Cabo da Roca is the  most western point of the european mainland. It is marked by a lighthouse situated on high cliffs, just looking at the blue ocean while listening to the waves crashing against the cliffs were like theraphy to me.

The Tourguide drove us to all the stops and picked us up again, all we had to pay was the entrance fee. It was an amazing day and I would do it all over again, 30€ for that much service is an amazing price, if you are ever in Lisbon make sure to take the tour and see these amazing places!

Day 4 - the last Day

After packing up and having our last breakfast in the Travellers House (honsetly their breakfast was to die for!) we decided to go for a last walk through lisbon!

And what is a better way to say goodbye to a city you fell in love with then by having another good gaze over it?

So we went up the Arco da Rua Augusta and enjoyed the last few hours of sun before flying back to cold and rainy Germany!

And I kinda used it as an excuse to at least wear my new sunglasses once this vacation!

Lisbon, you were so good to us, thank you for our wonderful 4 days!
